Gliders do have the advantage of staying put on the floor, while rockers may "walk" across the room when in use. Finally, before you get too caught up in all of the money you can save by borrowing or buying used baby nursery furniture or antiques, you really need to pay attention to safety. You shouldn't borrow or buy a used crib unless it has been made in the last few years. Older cribs may have crib rails which are spaced too far apart and can cause a strangulation hazard to your child. Older rockers and/or recliners may also be hazardous. Be sure you inspect all of the furniture you purchase to make sure each piece is safe and sound.
