Before you begin gathering your gift basket supplies, you might want to consider what type of container you'd like to use. Check out the following ideas:

Wicker baskets-This is the tried and true traditional choice, but you can choose from a variety of colors. If you're feeling crafty, pick up a wicker basket at your local dollar store and spray paint it in a pastel color.
Flower pot-Who says flower pots are just for flowers? Choose a large terra cotta pot, and fill it with all sorts of cool baby stuff. You can also paint the pot, even writing the date of the baby shower on the outside.
Trunk-Find a small decorative trunk to use. You can find one that is unpainted and decorate it yourself, or you can find a variety of painted trunks at stores like Hobby Lobby.
Bathtub-A baby bathtub makes the perfect shower gift basket container, especially when it's filled with bath items for baby.
Portable crib-Fill a portable crib with larger items such as large packages of diapers, blankets, and other supplies.
Diaper bag-Why give the mom an empty diaper bag, when you can fill it with all sorts of baby supplies?
All-purpose tub-You can find colorful tubs that look great and offer lots of space for all baby's stuff.
