Having Fun with Baby Shower Trivia Games
Baby showers are celebrations. While guests love to visit with friends and family, eat great food, and congratulate the expectant mother, games bring an added element to the shower. There are plenty of typical baby shower games you can play, but how about games that get your guests to really think? Baby shower trivia games allow shower guests to see how much they really know about a variety of subjects and even about the guest of honor. Many of the questions may stump players, but it's all in fun!
Trivia Game Ideas
The following is a list of baby shower trivia games that you and your guests might enjoy. You don’t have to wait for a baby shower, however, to play. Many of these are adaptable for numerous other occasions as well.
- He Said, She Said Bubblegum Game-Played similar to the newlywed game, this is a great game for a couples' shower. Have the dad answer predetermined questions about how he'll raise his child, what kind of husband he is, etc. Be sure and write his answers down, but don't let his wife hear them. Next, place her in front of everyone and ask her what she thinks her husband answered for each question. Each time she misses an answer, hand her a piece of bubblegum to chew. Unless she really knows her husband, her mouth will be full of gum by the end of the game!
- Who Knows Mommy?-In this game, the guests are the ones who have to answer the questions. Create a list of questions about the mommy-to-be. They can be as simple as her age, her middle name, her first boyfriend, her favorite restaurant, etc. Hand each guest a copy of the questions, and have her write down her answers. After guests have finished answering, ask the new mom the questions and have her answer them out loud. The guest with the most correct answers wins! Have prizes on hand to give to the winners of each game you play.
- Creative Baby Names-Ask guests to create a list of crazy, creative baby names for the mom-to-be to choose from. There are several variations of this game. For example, you could hand out letters of the alphabet and ask guests to create a name based on that letter. You could also ask guests to choose celebrity names that they think would be perfect for the baby.
- Celebrity Mommies-In this game, you'll put together a list of celebrity mothers, like Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond, Carol from The Brady Bunch, etc. Create a set of hints that coordinate with each name. Have guests work on their list of names and hints, and the person that guesses the most correct answers wins!
- Nursery Rhyme Trivia Game-Create a list of questions taken from popular nursery rhymes, like the following: "Who jumped over the moon?" "Where did Jack Horner sit?" "What did Little Miss Muffet eat?" Have guests try to answer each question, and the person with the most correct answers wins!
