Birthday Baby Book
From LoveToKnow Baby
Baby birthdays are so special, so, why not create a precious birthday baby book. You could even do one for each year of your baby's life!
Birthday Baby Book: Creative Options
If you are really creative, you can come up with all sorts of ideas for a birthday baby book! A lot of the materials may be stuff that you actually have around your house.
- You'll need to purchase a scrapbook or photo album. If you are going to decorate it anyway, then just about anything will do. Keep in mind though that if you are going to be adding pictures of various sizes, you won't want to use a book that limits your picture sizes to only 3x5 or 4x6. Sometimes, you can purchase extra sheets that accomodate different pictures, however, so that might be an option.
- Now decide how you want the cover of your baby's book to look. Did your baby receive a sweet blanket that she may not ever use? If so, you might want to cut the blanket to fit the photo album or scrapbook, and hot-glue it on. What a great way to preserve your little one's memories and get some creative use out of a little-used gift!
- If you have any leftover wallpaper from your child's nursery, you can cut it to fit, add some adhesive, and cover the photo album or scrapbook. Add some ribbons, buttons, lace, etc. to embellish the look.
- You can always cover the baby book with simple craft paper, and turn your child's birthday baby book into a creative canvas. Dip his little hands and feet into finger paints, and then stamp them onto the paper before you cover the album. How adorable is that!
- Using a cloth or paper covering for the birthday baby book, go ahead and add pictures of your child's birthday to the cover, and outline them with lace, ribbon, etc.
- Stencil your child's name and the year of the birthday on the cover, too.
Content Choices
Now, what do you place on the inside of your child's birthday baby book?
- Guest lists
- Favorite photos-Be sure you get photos of all the birthday guests, gifts, cake, and of course the guest of honor!
- Place an invitation, napkin, balloon, etc., and anything else from the party that you can comfortably fit in the book.
- Memorable moments-these might be statements concerning how your baby reacted to her cake, candles, gifts, etc. If she cries at her party, write it down. When she is a teen, you'll laugh about it together!
For the Non-Creative Types
If you just don't feel that you are creative enough to make a birthday baby book, don't worry! There are lots of other options!
