Cheap Baby Shower Favors
Cheap baby shower favors don't have to look cheap. In fact, if you use some of the following ideas, your baby shower guests will be clamoring to find out just where you got these great favors! Will you tell them? That's up to you! Try out the following ideas to make your next baby shower a success!
- Hand Lotion-Purchase a large bottle of hand lotion and enough small, plastic, baby bottles so that each guest has one. Fill each of the bottles with lotion, and decorate the bottles with acrylic paint or ribbons and bows.
- Sweet Treats-The hostesses can spend an afternoon baking a variety of cookies. Give each guest a few of the cookies wrapped in baby themed wrapping or tissue paper. For an added touch, look for cookie cutters with a baby design.
- Diaper Treats-Line a small disposable diaper with blue or pink tissue paper, and fill it with individually wrapped candies. Tie a blue or pink ribbon around the top of the diaper.
- Diapered Soap Bars-Look for scented soaps at your local dollar store. Purchase a yard or so of fabric from the discount table of your local fabric store. Look for fabric that is baby themed or has pastel colors. Cut the fabric into sections large enough to hold the soap, then wrap the soap in the fabric. Secure your package with a diaper pin!
- Candy-filled Socks-Purchase several packs of baby socks. Fill each sock with candy, and tie the pairs together with pink and/or blue ribbon. Give each guest a pair of socks, and invite them to eat the candy, then give the socks to the guest-of-honor!
- Hand-painted Burp Cloths-Purchase some inexpensive, material paint and packs of cloth diapers. Set up a table at the baby shower, and invite guests to decorate the diapers for burp cloths to give to the mom-to-be.
- Coffee Mugs-You can typically find coffee mugs at your local dollar store. Fill the coffee mugs with individual packs of gourmet coffees, herbal tea bags, candy, or even a small plant or flower.
- Baby Bottles-Plastic baby bottles are very versatile. You can fill them with soap crystals, candy, or potpourri. They’re inexpensive, and you can tie a ribbon to the neck of the bottle for an added touch.
- Candles-Small votive or tiny jar candles are wonderful, cheap baby shower favors. Wrap them in tulle, and tie with a ribbon.
