Babies can be very expensive, thank goodness for cheap baby stuff. There are so many things that they need. They'll go through hundreds of diapers and wipes. They need several changes of clothing, especially when they are infants, and you can't just give young babies any kind of food or drink. You can actually find some cheap baby stuff that you and your baby can enjoy, and you can save some money, too!
Necessary but Cheap Baby Stuff
Of course, you will still diapers and wipes.
- Cloth Diapers-. There's no way around it. You'll have to factor in the extra laundry that you'll do if you use cloth diapers, but in the long run, you should save money.
- Off Brand Diapers-If you simply don't want to use cloth diapers, why not switch to an off brand or store brand disposable diapers? If they don't stop leaks as well as your favorite name brand, then use the name brands on your baby at night and the off brand during the day. You'll still save money.
- Wipes-There are many store brand baby wipes that work just as well as name brand ones, but at a fraction of the cost.
- Coupons-If you haven't already done so, sign up for coupons for items such as diapers, wipes, and formula at the company's website. You may also find valuable coupon's in your Sunday newspaper. There are even coupon swapping websites that you can visit on the Internet.
Cheap Baby Clothes
How can you outfit your little one with all of the clothing he needs and save money, too? There are several options.
- Seasonal Sales-If you can estimate the size your baby will be the following year, you can find great deals on clothing at the end of each season. Stock up for next year!
- Consignment Shops-These shops sell used clothing for a fraction of the cost. They will also hold seasonal sales, so you can save even more money!
- Consignment Sales-These are usually held a couple of times a year. Other parents, just like you, bring their children's good, used clothing to sell, and they'll make typically sixty to seventy percent. You can sell your child's items to make money to purchase more clothing, too!
Cheap Baby Food
Unless you are breastfeeding, you'll spend a fortune on formula. As your baby grows, you'll also need to buy her baby food. There are some ways to save money, however.
- Formula-There are several store brand formulas which are virtually identical to the name brands. You can save some money by switching to these. If you have any problems or questions, contact your pediatrician.
- Coupons-Be sure you get on a company's mailing list to receive valuable coupons on formula and baby food.
- Homemade Baby Food-You can make your own baby food at home. Blend up fresh fruits and vegetables and pour them into an ice tray. When you get ready to feed your baby, simply pull out an ice cube of food, and microwave it. Be sure you stir it thoroughly and check the temperature before giving it to baby.
Cheap Child Care
You can find cheaper child care by swapping child care duties with a relative or friend. You can take turns watching each other's children!

Finally, swap ideas with other parents on ways to save money and how to find cheap baby stuff. Babies aren't inexpensive, but there are ways to cut corners!
