Naomi, This is a very personal issue that really only you can decide. I spoke with several mothers on this issue, and I can tell you that there are many who feel strongly about having their children take the shot, but there are just as many who hesitate particularly in regards to the swine flu vaccine. I can't advise you one way or the other, but I can suggest that you discuss this further with your pediatrician.-Susie

Danish Grandmom, Have you tried mixing it with juice? Check with your pharmacist to see if this will affect its strength, and ask your pharmacist for other flavor suggestions.-Susie

Please help as soon as you can reply. My 2 1/2 yr. old grandson has been put on Griseofulvin for ring worm. Having flavored the med still hasn't helped him take it. He is having to take with a serenge. He is to take this med for another 8 weeks. The only way we are able to get a drop into his mouth for the last week, is to sit on him and 2 people have to hold him down. Even with flavor, this med smells bad, and does taste real bad. He has no problem taking his allergy meds. Is there another med or way to give him his med. I am soory if I am not asking this the right way. Was told by his doctor this is only med for ring worm.

Dear Danish Grandmother, While this might be considered signs of autism, it may also just mean that your grandson is fascinated with learning new skills. For you and your daughter-in-law's peace of mind, however, I would definitely take these concerns to your grandson's pediatrician. If your grandson does have autism, the sooner he is diagnosed, the earlier treatment can begin. Good luck!-Susie

Is there anything to be concerned about regarding my grandson. He is 22 months. He has a fetish about putting things in a row like putting cookies on a cookey sheet they have to be in a straight row. He puts all yellow things together like on the fridge his alpabets, all colors has to be in the same area in the row. When calling his name he does not repond, but when you say cartoons or cookie his attention is to you. These are just a couple of things, my daughter in law is concerned he might have a small amount of autisim. I think he is just fine.

This is the same type of attachment that a child has with a blanket or any other "lovey". Please don't obsess over this. Your grandson will outgrow it eventually, but if you make too big a deal out of it, it could become a battle of wills once your grandson gets a little older. -Susie

I hope someone can kindly let me know if this obsession is normal. I have a 21 month grandson that is obsessed with tags on clothes, toys, washclothes. If he is upset in a store and cries, than an articles old or new with a tag will calm him as soon as he can put the tag between index and thumb. It became quite embarassing when my girlfrien had her 12 month old over my house, and the baby was crawling on the floor, my grandson saw her little pants tag and went after the baby to get after the tag. I pray he will outgrow this soon, or is this something we should look into. No one that I have talked to has heard of this. Maybe the blankie attachment, but not this.
