Nici, Actually, this is pretty common. Try not to get too excited (easier said than done, right?). If your son doesn't get a reacton out of you, he'll probably decide that holding his breath won't bring the results he wants! That being said, if your child continues to have these episodes, I suggest contacting your pediatrician to rule out any health issues. Again, breath holding is common for toddlers, but for your own peace of mind, talk to your doctor.-Susie

How common is it for a toddler (2years and 1 week) to hold his breath untill fainting during a tantrum? Happened first time last night - Just want to make sure about way forward. Thank you,
